DJ controllers are MIDI controllers or USB-to-analog devices used for controlling DJ software, and can typically be installed on a MAC or Windows PC or laptop – or in some cases a tablet device. A DJ Controller provides you with hands-on, tactile control over DEX 3 and DEX 3 RE DJ mixing software. While keyboards and MIDI notes will work once enabled, DAW controllers with faders, encoders, or transport controls will still need to be set up. If not enabled, Pro Tools simply won’t respond to the controller’s MIDI data. In order for your MIDI devices to work in Pro Tools, they must first be enabled within the MIDI settings.
